What Mochicut does, and what your Mac needs
What is Mochicut?
Old digicams shoot in old formats: JPG photos and chunky AVI videos that don't play nicely with the Photos app or your iPhone. Tidying them by hand means previewing one by one, rotating sideways shots, converting videos with some converter, and dragging everything in — every single time.
Mochicut folds all of that into one small, friendly flow. No accounts, no cloud — everything happens on your Mac.
How it works
- Import: Pick your SD card or a folder. Mochicut finds the JPGs and AVIs and lines them up. Nothing starts by itself — and the card is only ever read.
- Look through & tidy: Everything in one grid. Click for fullscreen, flip through with the arrow keys, and play videos right in the app. Sideways shots get straightened, and near-duplicate bursts are grouped so you can keep just the best one.
- Convert: Photos become HEIC and videos become HEVC (.mov) — the same space-saving formats your iPhone uses. Keep the original shot date, or stamp them with today. Your choice.
- Send to Photos: Everything lands in the Photos app, in the right spot on your timeline, and iCloud backs it up like it does everything else. Mochicut cleans up after itself — no temp files left behind.
The little things it does well
- Auto-straighten: Mochicut looks at each photo and figures out which way is up — on your Mac, not on a server. When it's not sure, it asks instead of guessing quietly. And it rotates the actual pixels, so photos stay upright in every app.
- Best-shot picks: shot five of the same cake? Mochicut groups look-alikes and suggests the keeper. You always confirm.
- Originals stay sacred: Mochicut works on a copy. It never modifies or deletes anything on your SD card.

모찌컷이 뭐예요?
옛날 디카는 옛날 포맷으로 찍혀요. JPG 사진과 큼직한 AVI 영상은 사진 앱이나 아이폰과 잘 안 맞죠. 손으로 정리하려면 한 장씩 미리보고, 누운 사진 돌리고, 영상은 따로 변환하고, 전부 끌어다 넣고… 이걸 매번 반복해야 해요.
모찌컷은 그 모든 걸 작고 귀여운 흐름 하나로 접어놨어요. 계정도 클라우드도 없이, 전부 맥 안에서요.
이렇게 흘러가요
- 가져오기: SD카드나 폴더를 고르면 모찌컷이 JPG·AVI를 찾아 늘어놔요. 마음대로 시작하는 일은 없고, 카드는 읽기만 해요.
- 보기 · 손질: 전부 한 그리드에. 클릭하면 크게, 방향키로 휙휙, 영상도 앱 안에서 바로 재생돼요. 누운 사진은 세우고, 비슷하게 찍힌 연사는 묶어서 베스트만 남길 수 있어요.
- 변환: 사진은 HEIC로, 영상은 HEVC(.mov)로 — 아이폰이 쓰는 바로 그 용량 절약 포맷이에요. 촬영한 날짜를 그대로 살릴지, 오늘 날짜로 넣을지도 고를 수 있어요.
